The existing house, whilst beautiful to the front, had past additions to the rear which were unsympathetically designed. We re thought the internal layout, by removing the disconnected extensions and created one very special one.
Our client’s fondness for the work of Frank Lloyd Wright was an opportunity to create something particularly unique in the form of a ‘jewel’ addition. The bold and elegant form picks out key features from the existing house and tastefully weaves them throughout in its finer details.
The house was upgraded with sustainable implementations such as; smart air bricks to control heat loss, spray underfloor insulation, loft insulation improvements, ground source pump taking advantage of the large garden combined with air source heat pump, and a large number of solar PV panels including a hidden PV farm within confines of the garden.
