The Gables

When we first met our clients, we knew it was going to be a very special projects. They are ambitious and wanted the house to not only be their forever home, but replicate the luxury hotels they have frequented throughout their travels around the world. The upgrade of this Edwardian home is on an epic scale, but like ourselves, they wanted to remain true to the original architect designed house - it’s a celebration of the best of architecture, straddling different centuries.

Even though we have lifted and replaced the roof to create better head room for the children's floor and improved insulation, we have designed bespoke wider barge boards akin to those on the original house. We have upgraded all of the windows, but retained the detailed window boards/bays/structure. The arch to the grand front door has been exposed and we have restored the brickwork, including the chimneys to their original best.

The modern additions include the wrap around glazed extension to the ground floor and the impressive swim/spa complex that simply 'juts' out from the side of the house, sitting above the natural pool. The interior design is also underaken by us, and will be simply breathtaking when completed.

The house and gardens can now remain for decades untouched due to the attention afford to it.
