Overview
This family home had many lovely design features at the front of the property, but the rear was blocked off from the garden by poor extensions and no connection to the outdoor space. Our design has opened out the width of the house, creating a lovely light well above the snug and new dining area (where the old balcony used to be) flooding the middle of the house with natural light.
Adjacent spaces; the new kitchen and utility area, are wrapped in a beautifully detailed brick and rose stone modern extension.
This was not an easy planning journey, requiring multiple applications as simply put -something different can be unwelcome! Yet the clients and ourselves remained undeterred, and eventually gained planning permission for the full design, including the first floor ‘pointed’ extension, creating a lovely reading space to the master bedroom, overlooking the newly landscaped garden.
Internally the property ‘started again’, this helped to improve energy efficiencies with fabric first upgrades for insulation improvements and new interior design throughout.
