Finsbury Park Road
Finsbury Park, North London

Overview
Whilst small, this site is Brownfield and though a challenge to get the Conservation Officer on board, we succeeded!
Like many of our projects, we work very well with our planning colleagues with around 80% of our applications gaining planning permission, despite the complex locales.
This 1-bedroomed home is striking in shape wit the acute angled roof juxtaposed against the taller rectangular form, with the green roof atop. Its 65m2 space is cleverly carved up to ensure it does not feel small, with glimpses of the south facing courtyard from much of the ground floor. The top floor has a main bedroom/dressing and ensuite.
The design incorporates an interesting palette of materials including yellow and red reclaimed stock brick and contemporary glass. The details relate strongly to the features of the surrounding terraced properties, whilst remaining unique, not pastiche.
It's cute and compact and has immense quality, in a great North London location. Due for completion in Spring 2026 and a member of our Small Homes Revolution - a successful action to promote small sites for much needed homes in our Capital.
- Dentil brickwork detailing to the frontage
- 61% reduction in emissions - this will be improved during the detail design stage
- Air Source Heat Pump and mechanical heat recovery aid its reduced energy usage design
- Internal design that includes 'shutters' - a nod to the heritage of the road and block out the passers by
- Rainwater harvesting tank for grey water usage; flushing of loos and water the planting
- Solar PV array orientated south.
