Overview

Our design moved the house across the site on anew axis to maximise the view of the common beyond, where ponies and horses roam freely. The design works with the sun’s path - with PV panels set on the southern roof of the annexe away from the conservation street scene.

An Oriel window sits on the floor of the lounge only 4 steps up from the ground level to ensure that when one sits, you can see over the native boundary hedgerow. The overhang to the kitchen at the rear prevents the summer sun overheating the Southern facade, whilst allowing solar gain with the winters lower sun.

Our design ethos - a little house in the woods, is not a pastiche, but a nod to many of the architectural styles in the Northern Conservation area.

A clever little piece of architecture.
