After our evaluation we felt that it was best to remove the later additions that were ‘carving up’ of the original house, and replace with our rationalised design approach that created an open plan ‘super-space’ with stunning connection to the grounds.

Between the existing gables, we proposed a pitched roof of glass, directly above the newly created main living space and the original staircase, creating a dramatic entrance that completely transforms the previously dark and gloomy space with fantastic light and visual of the wider landscape.

Permeable hard landscaping to the immediate area adjacent to the new ground floor extension creates a seamless connection between internal and external spaces.

The purposeful openings to the extension, frame the stunning views to the South and East of the house, allowing the clients to enjoy the full potential of their landscaped garden and setting.

Our design is not only visual it has function, the glazing is positioned to  benefit from solar gains that naturally heat the larger living space created.
