Clear Architects has been featured in this month’s issue of ‘Concrete’ with their project Wyvern House. The Concrete Society encourages the exchange of knowledge and innovation across all disciplines and promotes excellence in design, construction, appearance and performance.
Wyvern House’s design had several site constraints which limited its size and shape as well as its construction methods. The exceptional quality of this completed home was made possible by using a concrete frame with a central circular zinc core. Concrete detailing has become a main design feature throughout the building, specifically to the 3 storey staircase where the visible concrete is honed and then polished and sealed to give a beautiful low-sheen finish.
