Delighted to have received planning approval today for our project Mole End.
We proposed that the existing house was demolished as its construction was poor quality, not allowing us to improve its thermal performance as well as a mix of styles with no architectural merit. We wanted to make the best house for this unique locality.
Our proposal is a modern interpretation of the existing 1920´s bungalow, designed to minimise heat loss, incorporating high-performance renewable energy features such as ASHP (replacing the non-efficient oil boiler), PV’s to capture the sun & a rainwater harvesting tank for grey water re-use. These measures in combination with the ecological enhancements of the site, the carefully selected material palette creates a beautiful sympathetic building that is positive environmentally as well as contextually.
